HEP Training provides credit and recognition for the training work you are doing by being linked to frameworks such as APICURON and BIP! Scholar, and indirectly to ORCID.
APICURON¶
APICURON is a registry that can track, aggregate, and credit non-traditional scientific contributions. It has been extensively used in life sciences for the curation of biological databases, also called biocuration.
Thanks to the joint effort in the EVERSE Work Package on Capacity Building and Recognition, where the HEP Training team took part of, we are delighted to partner with APICURON to credit HEP Training users’ efforts.
Whenever a new training material is registered, data entries are curated, or upcoming learning events are updated, HEP Training transmits this activity to the APICURON servers. Once aggregated, APICURON, on its side, dynamically generate granular contribution statistics, badges, and community leaderboards to incentivize engagement. Most importantly, it pushes this contribution in your ORCID profile.
How to get credited for training activities?¶
Have an ORCID or register in ORCID
Login in HEP Training
Add your ORCID in your profile (Click on your picture on the top-right of the window, select ‘My Profile’, click on ‘Edit profile’, add your ORCID and click on ‘Update profile’)
Login in APICURON
Look at the following contributions that are credited in HEP Training

BIP! Scholar¶
BIP! Scholar offers researchers the option to create public or private profiles representing their research activities, enrich them with contextual information (e.g., CRediT roles, indicators, narratives), and highlight different aspects of their careers, enriched with valuable additional context.
HEP Training links with BIP! Scholar to offer trainers a broader view on their research profile by adding a short banner in their trainers’ profile.

How to display this BIP! Scholar banner in your trainer’s profile?¶
Have an ORCID or register in ORCID
Login in HEP Training
Add your ORCID in your profile (Click on your picture on the top-right of the window, select ‘My Profile’, click on ‘Edit profile’, add your ORCID and click on ‘Update profile’)
Login in BIP using your ORCID
Go to BIP! Scholar and view ‘My profile’ on the top right of the page. You are now seeing the metrics associated with your research profile.
Back in your Trainer’s profile in HEP Training, it should display a BIP! Scholar banner under your name (this may take one day to refresh).
